RDC: MSF alerte sur les lourdes conséquences humanitaires du conflit armé au Nord et Sud-Kivu
Le conflit armé entre le M23/AFC, les FARDC, et leurs alliés respectifs, a repris avec une intensité accrue au Nord et Sud-Kivu. Depuis décembre 2024, plusieurs fronts ont été ouverts à Lubero, Masisi au Nord-Kivu, avant de descendre vers le Sud-Kivu, à Minova et Numbi.
Les combats se rapprochent de Goma (Nord-Kivu), avec des affrontements intenses à Sake. Les conséquences humanitaires sont très lourdes sur la population. D’après les Nations Unies, près de 400.000 ont à nouveau fui les affrontements depuis début janvier. Des dizaines de milliers de déplacés ont pris la direction des camps autour de Goma où survivaient déjà plus de 650 000 personnes dans des conditions insalubres, sans abris convenables, manquant de tout : nourriture, eau, soins de santé…
Les camps ne sont pas épargnés. Des roquettes ont été tirées près des camps et des structures où les gens ont trouvé refuge.
“C’est affolant, inacceptable. Nous constatons un taux inquiétant de civils parmi les blessés soignés” décrit E. Lampaert, représentant de MSF en RDC.
A Goma MSF appuie l’hôpital de Kyeshero dans la prise en charge de blessés pour soulager le CICR_Afrique en première ligne. Dans le reste du Nord & du Sud-Kivu, nos équipes poursuivent la prise en charge de patients, dont 400 blessés à Minova, Numbi & Masisi en 3 semaines.
